Helping local kids get on the field.
Both of my boys play ball, and we know how quickly kids outgrow their gear and how expensive it can be to replace everything season after season.
At the same time, there are perfectly good gloves, bats, cleats, pants, helmets and bags sitting in closets and garages that still have plenty of innings left in them.
That’s where the Second Inning Project comes in.
We’re collecting new and gently used baseball and softball equipment and getting it into the hands of local players who need it.
Have gear your player has outgrown? We’d love to give it a second inning.
Does your player need gear? Please ask.
No judgment. No long explanation. Our goal is simple: help more kids get on the field.
WHAT CAN I DONATE?
We’re accepting new and gently used baseball and softball gear that’s ready for another player to use.
Gloves & mitts
Bats
Batting helmets in excellent condition
Cleats
Baseball & softball pants
Belts
Equipment bags
Catcher’s gear
Batting gloves
New/unopened socks
Other usable baseball & softball equipment
A good rule: If you wouldn’t feel comfortable putting it on your own player, please don’t donate it.

HOW IT WORKS
1. DONATE
Local families and businesses donate new or gently used baseball and softball equipment.
2. REQUEST
Parents or guardians can privately request equipment their player needs.
3. MATCH
When donated gear matches a player’s needs and size, we’ll reach out.
4. GET BACK ON THE FIELD
The gear gets a second inning and another kid gets a chance to play.
4. SPONSOR A PLAYER — COMING SOON
SPONSOR A PLAYER — COMING SOON
Equipment isn’t the only expense that can keep a child from playing.
Our next goal for the Second Inning Project is to help local families with recreational baseball and softball registration fees.
We’re working out the details now to make sure the program is handled responsibly, fairly and transparently.
